  1. So I just linked to you from Hungryrunnergirl because I just signed up for a half marathon too... and have never run more than a 5k! Mine is not until January (Tinkerbell Half at Disneyland - worth waiting for) but I'm scared out of my mind. When is your race? What made you sign up? How are you going about tackling it??

  2. Just saw you on SR, I'm actually just starting my blog and while not as ambitious as you I signed up for a half in August. Good luck training, can't wait to follow along!

  4. I just did my first half earlier this month (woohoo!) I was a sporadic runner before and trained in about 3 months so you can definitely do it! I used Hal Higdon's website to help me make a plan, I linked it on my blog www.lilybirdblogs.com which I started just as a training tool. Good luck!

  5. Sorry, my comment was silly. I almost meant to say that I think your blog is cute and I'm excited to read your posts!! I signed up for my first marathon later this year. We can train together!! Well, virtually :)

  6. @Wendi- no comment is silly! :)

@Brit- I have signed up for the St. Jude half-Marathon in Memphis on December 3, 2011. I am scared to death haha. My friend Lila (who is also wearing a SR shirt) talked me into it and St. Jude has already taken the money out of my account, so I can't back out. The way I'm tackling it is not going so great. I live in MS so its ridiculously hot ALL the time. But I have printed off Couch to 5K, hal higdon's training program and a 10 week to a half program. Now I just have to get going. literally.

  7. I found you through SR...good luck on the half! You are far more ambitious than I am haha...I've been planning to do one for awhile and keep finding reasons not to. But I'm gonna follow you through you're training and stuff so hopefully it will motivate me! I've been reading through your posts and I'm loving the blog so far :)

  8. I found you through SR!!! I am training for my 1st 1/2 that'll be in January or September 2012, long way off, but I need that time to train! I'm not a great runner, and I'm learning to get better. I've been using methods from "Run Your Butt Off." I had to skip a bunch of the stages to get to where I am now, but it's been a GREAT tool! I'm a new blogger, so check out my site also! Have a great one! and I'm lovin the blog girl!!!

  10. I love finding new blogs so I love SR's CatLady posts. I'm at the beginning of my weight loss / healthy living journey. Looking at signing up for a 5k run in October. Might not seem like a long distance but I can barely run for a minute straight so I'm going to be learning the C25K program on my own.

  11. Hey girl! I found you through SR but what mostly made me click through was the Saints jersey and Auburn stamp! WDE!! are you in Alabama??

  12. Came by from SR! Good luck with the first half. I had not ran more than 3 miles and could only run for 30 minutes straight when I trained for my first half. Now I have done 3 halfs and 3 fulls with 2 more fulls on the horizon : )
