NOLA (Part Two)

I can already tell that you are dying to know how our Bachelorette Party on Saturday night went.
Let me tell you, it was FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC.

Here are some pictures, before I bore you with words again:

Colleen made this cookie cake. Yep, made it.

The Bride with all of her Bachelorette decorative items. :)

Me and Colleen

Colleen and Kate

Rachel, Chelsea and Claire

Me and Colleen again on a balcony over Bourbon

We like to take pictures with each other.

These 2 brides are having their weddings a MONTH apart.
Oh, and they have been bff's since high school.
Ohh, and they are marrying brothers.
Fairy tale, I tell ya, fairy tale friendship forevaaa.

Me and Claire

My new friend Chelsea.
She was a trooper for meeting me for the first time and driving us to Hattiesburg.

All of us.
Bourbon Street has no clue what is about to hit 'em.

Instead of going into detail I will just give you rough estimate of how our night schedule went.

7:00     Dinner at La Bayou Restaurant on Bourbon Street
8:30     Paid for dinner; began walking on Bourbon Street
8:35     Arrived at our first bar; not sure what the name of it was called
9:00     Went to another bar called The Beach (they played excellent dance music so we stayed there for a longgg time)
11:00    Decided to "change venues" and ended up at the Cat's Meow.

**I feel like I need to stop right here and go into a little detail about our experience at the Cat's Meow.
One of the things the Bride wanted to do was just something I've never done before:
Sing karaoke.
So we did.
To Will Smith's "Gettin Jiggy with it".

I am about to post the lyrics to this song and put in bold the words I actually knew and sang out loud, k?

on your mark ready set let's go
dance floor pro I know you know
I go psycho when my new joint hit
just can't sit

gotta get jiggy wit it

ooh that's it

now honey honey come ride
DKNY all up in my eye
you gotta Prada bag with alotta stuff in it
give it to your friend let's spin
everybody lookin' at me
glancin' the kid
wishin' they was dancin' a jig
here with this handsome kid
ciga-cigar right from Cuba-Cuba
I just bite it
it's for the look I don't light it
illway the an-may on the ance-day oor-flay
givin' up jiggy make it feel like foreplay
yo, my car, yo its Infinite-

ha ha

Big Willie Style's all in it

Gettin' Jiggy Wit It

na na na na na na na nana
na na na na nana
gettin jiggy wit it

repeat 3x

what you wanna ball with the kid
watch your step you might fall
trying to do what I did
mama-unh mama-unh I'ma come closer
in the middle of the club with the rub-a-dub, unh
no love for the haters, the haters
mad cause I got floor seats at the Lakers
see me on the fifty yard line with the Raiders
met Ali he told me I'm the greatest
I got the fever for the flavor of a crowd pleaser
DJ play another
from the prince of this
your highness
only mad chicks ride in my whips
south to the west to the east to the north
bought my hits and watch 'em go off a go off
ah yes yes y'all and ya don't stop
in the winter or the (summertime)
I makes it hot
gettin jiggy wit 'em

eight-fifty I.S. if you need a lift
who's the kid in the drop
who else Will Smith
livin' that life some consider a myth
rock from south street to one two fifth
women used to tease me
give it to me now nice and easy
since I moved up like George and Wheezy
cream to the maximum I be askin' 'em
would you like to bounce with the brother that's platinum
never see Will attackin' 'em
rather play ball with Shaq and um,
flatten 'em
you thought I took a spill
but I didn't
trust the lady of my life she hittin'
hit her with a drop top with the ribbon
crib for my mom on the outskirts of Philly
you trying to flex on me
don't be silly
getting jiggy wit it

Embarassing. I just held on to the 4 mardi gras beads someone gave me (i did not flash anyone)
and stood up there and danced around the stage.
One of the most un-attractive, fun times of my life.
Okay back to the schedule:
12:45     Was probably about the time we sang on stage.
1:00      Switched Venues again; and this time went to "OZ"; one of the gay bars at the end of the street/also the only bar that made us pay a cover to get in.  Needless to say, we did not stay there long.
1:28     Walked to Big Daddy's; I have always wanted to see what the inside of a strip club looked like, and I got my chance.  I will also never hear the song "Motivation" by Kelly Rowland the same way EVER again.
3:30      Began to walk back to the hotel; changed our mind and went in another club for a 'nightcap'
4:15     Decided it is now time to walk back to the hotel; feet are killing us, and then I end up hearing "wobble baby" come on and decide to dance out in the street with a group of black girls. Ahh-mazing.
4:38    End up at Arby's beside our hotel; bride orders and we go back to her hotel room and laugh and cry from laughing so hard.
5:08    Lay down in bed.
8:15   Wake up and get ready to leave NOLA.

What did I learn from spending 7:30 p.m. to 4:15 a.m in the streets of New Orleans?
That time with your best girlfriends can NEVER be replaced
that I can get a full 8 hours of sleep when I'm dead.

Now for those BLOOPER pictures you wanted to see:
(they are not many)

Thought I couldn't find some GTL in NOLA? Wrong.
Obviously they changed it to stand for Grenade, Topless, and Lucky Dog.
But I will take whatever I can get.
However, I did not buy the t-shirt. Remember, this grenade only bought food.

  1. I LOVE this post--especially the Will Smith lyrics part--I died. So glad you had so much fun!!!

  2. YEA RIGHT you didn't flash to get those beads! haha jk.

And I am ASHAMED of you Cassie for not knowing more giggy lyrics! Thats the Jams man but then again Karaoke is my favorrrriiteee thing to do EVER!! Sounds like you had a perfect welcome to NOLA. :)

Leave your thoughts ANYTIME.
I will reply back.
