Someone's drinkin' tonight...

Today is my younger sister's birthday.
She is officially 21.

My sister is not your average girl.  She loves hard and argues the same way.  She can throw on a pageant dress in full hair and makeup and then step off stage, put black lines underneath her eyes and play football (well, in high school that's what happened).

If she is told she can't do something, she proves you wrong every time. She is strong willed and one of the coolest, creative people I've ever met.  She does not put up with any drama, but if she is your friend...you're one lucky person.

Things I learned from my Sister...
[Idea from Laura]

That there really is nothing better than steaks cooking on Sunday and Saints football playing on the television.

That setting your alarm to watch a football game is more than okay; sometimes, it's necessary.

Being nice to people who legitimately don't like you is stupid. Love the ones who love you, or at least the ones who pretend to.

Hold babies and puppies as much as you can. They bring out an instant smile on your face.

Music is not overrated. There is a song for everything.
If you have a creative bone in your body, use it. Don't lose it.

That a peice of chocolate in both hands is a balanced diet.
Try anything once, even if dinner does consist of squirrel meat.

Spend 2 hours getting ready if you want; whoever your getting ready for will be patient. If they don't, forget 'em.

That if you want something, go for it.  The only thing holding you back from your dreams is yourself.

That taking a trip to another state and doing mission work can be more fulfilling than you can imagine.

That laughing can be the best medicine, especially if you end up in Monopoly Jail 17 times.

Never give up, until you know you have given it your all. Then, just do your best.  It's really all you can do.

Last, but not least, love hard. If someone wants to be with you, they will. Don't waste your time on someone who wouldn't do the same for you.

Happy 21st Birthday Nikki!

You can now go anywhere with me.
Go get that driver's licence changed if you want too. I hope you enjoy your day of birth and I hope the celebration lasts throughout the new year. Drink as much as you want. For some reason, you are the Gregory daughter that can handle it.

I love you to the moon and back.
Don't ever change who you are. I may not say it enough, but you have taught me a lot. I can't wait to learn even more.
