Brooke's Birthday Month. Weekend Two.

I would go into every single detail about this trip, but I kinda understand that it could be boring for others.

So....instead of paragraph form,
I'm going to sum up our 24 hours in New Orleans in bullet points.

Things I Learned this time in Nola...

  • If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency Hotel on Loyola Avenue, do not and I repeat DO NOT bring your box fan. The girl with the Louboutin heels and the hotel staff will look at you funny. And by funny, they actually do not approve. You will feel realllly stupid.
  • If you stay on the 27th floor of the Hyatt - one ride on the glass elevator will make your ears pop like you were on an airplane. Legit.

  • You will have your name on your tv and a keyboard in front of it. Still not sure what that was all about.
  • You will also be able to see the top of the Superdome from your room. Yes, my friends, the TOP - aka the ROOF.
  • Do not make a goal to make out with someone on Bourbon Street. You will not find that person.
  • However, the minute you stop looking and just walk back to your hotel, you will glance at someone, smirk and he will come up to you immediately.  Tell you his name is Jason, tell you your beautiful and you will make out with him in the middle of the street and give him your only pair of blue beads that you just picked up. He will say 'you can keep them' and you will respond with 'No, you earned these.'  You and your girls will walk one way and he the other. You'll never see each other again, but that look. Oh that look was enough. ;)

  • You can and will use both the women's and the men's restrooms at Channing Tatum's restaurant, Saints and Sinners.
  • You will drink two pints of Smirnoff Ice and giggle like a little school girl.
  • A bachelor party will come up to you and the 'groom' will have a list of things that he has to do on his shirt.  You will help the guy out.  You know how we are about scavenger hunts so this is obviously a given.
  • You realize how important picture messaging is.  Knowing that I needed to pull my boot socks down was life altering...just kidding.

  • Staying just one night in Nola is kind of the way to do it. Sunday nights on Bourbon are just not as fun.
  • Also, Bourbon Street looks completely different during the day than it does at night.

I really hope Brooke has had the best birthday month.
I had so much fun this past weekend in New Orleans with her.
The inside jokes are some that we will remember when we are old and will still laugh about what we did on Bourbon Street.

Happy Birthday (again) Boo thang.
Enjoy the rest of your month.
You deserve it.
